benefit of the doubt and grace. (30th july) sincerely i believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. after all, it's NOT ALL about first impressions right?! and we all (esp the sg gahmen) advocate a more gracious society yah?! but when u have been proven time and again that giving the benefit of doubt isn't going to explain certain actions of a person, then what of it?! and being gracious abt it?

so let's say that if i killed ur pet, on purpose. are u going to be gracious abt it? "oh it's really okie. i can just get another cat." afterall, it's just an animal and there are plenty of cats in need of a home yah?

or if i stabbed u in ur kidney. "no worries mate. i have 2. losing one is not of any importance."

then let's say, i'm ur bf and then i go slp with ur best mate. "oh dear.. i know it's just temptation. and i know u need release. esp since i believe in no sex before marriage, i wld understand if u have momentary lapse in penile control."

there are more heinous deeds which i'm sure there is no need to elaborate that u can't possibly be GRACIOUS to. yes unforgiveness is evidence that we are letting that particular person extend some control over our lives but yet, unforgiveness can also serve as a reminder of how we shd not commit past mistakes again. altho i'm sure some people find it extremely hard not to fall back into the cycle of "making the same old mistakes".

should u then allow a child-rapist (currently the hot topic in aussie news) another chance? in valiant hope that he would turn over a new leaf? and trust that he won't rape anymore children? and the emotional/physical trauma of those victims wld be erased or healed?

(aahhhh!!! fuck i'm damm angry! i type until damm nice liao then dunno what happened then all kenna erased!! fuck fuck fuck!! bloody blogger!!!! i can't remember liao!!!)

often, how we perceive ourselves are influenced by how we are brought up, how societ views us and very rarely how we see ourselves. (i may be wrong abt this point) much as we can control abt how people make us feel, it does get to u. even the most confident or the strongest can, at points in their lives, be in the pits, feeling like the shits because of what people say. being gracious abt what people say abt u won't make them stop. being gracious won't make u magically feel better abt.. say... ur mossie bites for breasts.

let's face it. there are and will always be some leopards that can never change their spots. even if they DO apparently have "a set of attitudes, assumptions and expectations about urself", it is a facade because u're acting in the exact opposite of ur 'life stance'. ur set of values are just a show to the unknowing. to show that u are indeed a nice, caring, kind, yada yada.... person. (a higher/divine power that u apparently believe in, in this sense, is just a damm good excuse for u to be as bad ass as u want) what people see is not ur true nature. u're just being a HYPOCRITE.

**this sounds like an angry reply but i assure u it's not. it's just my opinion**

(and yes this is the second time i'm typing the 2nd half out. and it's not as good as the first round which totally sucks and i had originally wanted to go for the whole if we had given osama the benefit of the doubt... oh! perhaps he's just being anal cos one of his girls in his harem refused him sex the night before, that's why in a fit of pent up sexual frustrations he decided to bomb the wtc, and killed millions.)
